Just for info on trip to Perhentian Island :-
It's a 3 days 2 nites trip. To get to Kuala Besut, Terengganu, there are 2 buses directly go to Kuala Besut which is Mahligai & Mutiara from Hentian Putra, Kuala Lumpur. However, these buses are not so comfortable for 8 hours journey. So, I suggest to those who wants a comfortable ride to Kuala Besut, take Ekspres Budaya or Transnasional which have 2 + 1 seating arrangement to Jerteh. Jerteh is around 15km to Kuala Besut Jetty. You have to take a taxi to Kuala Besut Jetty from Jerteh Bus Station. The journey will be around 15-20 minutes.
From Kuala Besut Jetty, you have 2 choices, speed boat and slowboat. Speedboat will take you to Perhentian Island for 30 minutes and that will cost you RM60 return ticket. Slowboat will take you approximately 1 hour plus plus and that will cost you RM40 for return ticket. I suggest that you should take the speedboat. Faster and fun!
As for Perhentian Island, there are 2 islands. Perhentian Besar(Big Island) & Perhentian Kecil (Small Island). I stayed at Perhentian Kecil at Long Beach or Pasir Panjang. Long Beach is famous among tourists from all over the world. It is because of its seawater is crystal clear compared to other places in Perhentian Island. Some of the chalets that you can find at Long Beach are Lily Chalet, Matahari Chalet, Bubu Long Resort, Panorama Chalet and others. I stayed at Lily Chalet. Quite comfortable and nice. RM160 per nite for 2-3 person per room. RM200 for quad sharing.
The foods are a bit pricey. RM6 for a Fried Rice. Teh Tarik RM2. Teh O' ais RM2.50. A tin of Coca Cola RM2 - RM2.50. But I guess that's okay for me. Not too expensive though. Just nice.
As for snorkeling, you can rent goggles, snorkles & flippers for RM10 per day. For Island Hopping, it's around RM40 per person including goggles, snorkles & flippers. Minimum 5 person per boat. You can go to Sharks Point, Turtles Point, Perhentian Village, Romantic Beach, Turtles Beach and others. It was really fun. Worth every cents.
Well, I don't know how to tell you more. Just log on to these websites to get more info on the packages and prices.

Overall costs, I spent not more than RM370 for 3 days 2 nites trip with 7 persons! That includes bus, boat, accommodation, food, one snorkeling & misc. Next trip, I might wanna go for a scuba diving license. Next year please!
